The Rhode Island Red Room
Developed in Rhode Island in the 1830s, various breeds were used in their makeup, including Malays, Cochins and Brown Leghorns.
This room receives morning sun all year long. Enjoy the view toward the Artpark complex, only four blocks away. Or, combine this room with the Bantam room and bring your children along. There's fun all year in Historic Lewiston.
The Ancona Room
The Ancona came as a breed from Eastern Italy - in the area of the seaport town of Ancona on the Adriatic Sea - to Europe in the mid of the 19th century and were first exhibited around 1850 in Birmingham, Great Britain.
This is one of our larger rooms and has a private bath. It also features a hand made, built-in oak bookcase for those times you'd like to relax with a good book. Ours is a varied book collection, from technical books to science fiction; romance to history, we have a bit of everything. Downstairs in the living room we have started a "book swap," if you'd like to borrow one, or leave one, simply let us know.
The Leghorn Room
The breed originated in Italy, but most of the color varieties were developed in Great Britain, America and Denmark.
This room receives the afternoon sun for a warm glow. And when the sun goes down, a comfortable queen size bed allows a restful night.
